Bovik Receives IEEE Signal Processing Society’s Best Paper Award for 2009

Professor Al Bovik and two of his former students, UT ECE and WNCG alumni Zhou Wang (now at the University of Waterloo) and Hamid Sheikh (now at Texas Instruments, Inc., in Dallas), have been selected to receive the IEEE Signal Processing Society's Best Paper Award for 2009 for their paper entitled "Image quality assessment: from error visibility to structural similarity" published in the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, Volume 13, Issue 4, April 2004. This prestigious award is given retrospectively to the best paper in the Society's journals from the previous five years.
