Heath Receives 2012 IEEE Signal Processing Society Signal Processing Magazine Award
WNCG director and professor Robert W. Heath, Jr. and former WNCG student Dr. Chan-Byoung Chae received the 2012 IEEE Signal Processing Society Signal Processing Magazine Award for their publication Shifting the MIMO Paradigm, which they co-authored with David Gesbert, Marios Kountouris and Thomas Slzer. This paper appeared in IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, Volume 24, Number 5, September 2007.The authors will formally receive their award will during the IEEE ICASSP 2013 Awards Ceremony, which will be held in Vancouver, Canada in May. IEEE Signal Processing Magazine provides informational articles, column and forums on signal processing research, applications and issues of interest. The magazine covers fundamental principles and practical implementation, reflecting the interests and concerns of the signal processing community. Its mission is to bring up-to-date, emerging and active technical developments, issues, and events to the research, educational, and professional communities. It is also the main society communication platform addressing important issues concerning all members. Robert Heath is the director of WNCG and teaches signal processing, MIMO Communication, Multiuser MIMO, OFDM, Smart Antennas, DSP, and Multiple-Input.
