Robert Heath, Texas ECE professor, has received the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) 2016 Most Attended Industry Panel Award. Heath was recognized for his panel “Millimeter Wave vs. Below 5GHz Massive MIMO: Which Technology Can Give Greater Value?," which he co-organized and moderated with Thomas Marzetta of Nokia Bell Labs. The IEEE GLOBCOM provides an extensive industrial program designed to provide opportunities for the practicing industry professional both to share and learn about the latest ideas, trends, and product innovations in the broader communications and networking industries. The Industry Program is composed of prominent industry speakers, a CTO forum, moderated business panels, demonstrations, seminars, and presentations designed to promote the exchange of ideas, trends, and innovations while facilitating peer networking opportunities.

Robert Heath is a Texas ECE Cullen Trust Endowed Professor, Fellow of IEEE, and is a member of the Wireless Networking and Communications Group. He is also president and CEO of MIMO Wireless Inc. and Chief Innovation Officer at Kuma Signals LLC. Dr. His research interests include limited feedback techniques, multihop networking, multiuser and multicell MIMO, interference alignment, adaptive video transmission, manifold signal processing, and millimeter wave communication techniques. Heath was a co-author of best paper IEEE GLOBECOM 2015, 2010 and 2013 EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking best paper awards, a 2013 Signal Processing Society best paper award, the 2014 EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing best paper award, and the 2016 IEEE Communications Society and Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award.
