WNCG Student Receives ECE Research Award at GAIN 2019

The University of Texas Graduate Engineering Council hosted their annual Graduate and Industry Networking event (GAIN) on February 5. WNCG student Nitin Jonathan Myers won the ECE Departmental Research Award for the event’s poster session.

GAIN was conceived as a “broad networking opportunity that allows The Cockrell School of Engineering to showcase its best and brightest graduate students.” Along with a poster session, the event featured talks from industry representatives as well as a networking session that allowed students to connect with over 15 leading companies.

Prof. Robert Heath Wins IEEE Communications Society Award

WNCG professor Robert Heath received IEEE Communications Society’s (ComSoc) 2018 Wireless Technical Committee Recognition Award. The commendation recognizes Heath’s “high degree of visibility and contribution in the field of ‘Wireless and Mobile Communications Theory, Systems, and Networks.’”

Romain Fleury Receives Young Presenter Award From ASA

UT ECE graduate student Romain Fleury has been named the recipeint of the "Young Presenter Award in Noise" for his presentation at the 168th meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in Indianapolis for his work on "Parity-Time symmetric metamaterials and metasurfaces for loss-immune and broadband acoustic wave manipulation." This award is particularly significant because it is awarded to anyone under the age of 35, not just students. Romain is supervised by Prof.
