Prof. Chan-Byoung Chae has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Molecular, Biological, and Multi-scale Communications (T-MBMC). The official term of service, which began Jan. 1 2019 and ends Dec. 31 2020, is renewable for up to two additional years.

The IEEE T-MBMC publishes theoretical and practical innovations in emerging communications. In particular, the publications website states that it is “devoted to the principles, design, and analysis of communication systems that use physics beyond classical electromagnetism. This includes molecular, quantum, and other physical, chemical and biological techniques; as well as new communication techniques at small scales or across multiple scales.”

The journal is a collaboration between the IEEE Communications Society, the IEEE Computer Society and the IEEE Nano Council. As Editor-in-Chief, Chae will report to the ComSoc Director of Journals and Vice-President of Publications. He will also serve on and be a voting member of the ComSoc Publications Council.

Chan-Byoung Chae is the Underwood Distinguished Professor in the School of Integrated Technology, Yonsei University, Korea. He was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories, Alcatel-Lucent, Murray Hill, NJ, USA from 2009 to 2011. Before joining Bell Laboratories, he was with the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas, Austin, TX, USA in 2008 under the supervision of Robert W.
